KWIK WAY CHARTER SERVICE
"Fishin' Been Good"
Capt. Kirk Howlett
Capt. Chuck Carter

Known as "The best offshore fishing guides in Port O'Connor", these guys earn their reputation every fishing day. you can see their catch brought to the dock in Port O'Connor at the intersection of Byer Road and Maple Street off Highway 185 at the Public Boat Ramp (known as "Froggies").

Family from Texarkana
Former competitors who fished corporate "Double Headers" together for years, Chuck Carter and Kirk Howlett of the Kwik Way Charter Service decided about 2 years ago to coop on their fishing services. And, as it turns out, two captains are indeed better than one...if you don't catch any fish, you can blame it on the "other" captain!! But, I am told the most entertaining aspect of their trips are the Captains. (Their floor show is free of charge, of course, and remember don't tip the jokester!!)

Chuck Carter has fished Port O'Connor about 20 years. You may have fished with him before on the "Robin", a 36' Hatarus, or the "Landslide", a 36' Dorodo. Chuck also owns Coastal Boat SRVS. UNLTD. in Port O'Connor. He specializes in marine electronic sales and installations. (You may have bought your last GPS or fishfinder from him!)

Kirk has fished on a variety of boats for the last 15 years, all called "Kwik Way". You may have seen signs advertising his charter service at this Kwik Way Drive In Store in Port Lavaca, or seen pictures of their catches at "White's BBQ", his family BBQ restaurant, also in Port Lavaca.

66 lb. Amberjack
These guys have fished on a 35' Marlin for the last two years, up-grading to two Yamaha four stroke engines this year. And don't forget...hold on...there is reason they call it the "Kwik Way"..you get their Kwicker! (They plan to fish a 50' Marlin next year, so look for that next spring!)

They fish from 30-75 miles offshore Port O'Connor, running East-West, dependent upon where the fish are biting. Chuck made sure Kirk bought the newest electronics for that boat, so they can fish bottom structures, wrecks, and holes only the "old guys" know.

Their standard trip departs at 6:30 am (if Chuck's on time) and returns at approximately 5:30 pm. Fish cleaning is provided, as well and all essential fishing gear. Please bring your own food and drinks! Also, be sure and bring standard fishing gear (sunscreen, hat, etc.) Also, bring an ice chest and freezer baggies to carry your fillet home!!
